Welcome to Starport

Established in 1962, Starport is a quality-of-life program that directly supports the mission of the Johnson Space Center by providing a variety of support activities and employee services including wellness programs, fitness and recreational services, food and vending services, retail operations, employee celebrations and convenience services.

Starport is a non-appropriated funded program that functions as a financially self-sustaining small business. All money earned through Starport operations is used to support JSC employee services and activities that enhance work life, promote mental and physical fitness, and generally provide a working environment at JSC that helps to attract and retain quality employees.

Starport operates a multipurpose facility called the Gilruth Center. The Gilruth offers a variety of fitness related and conference spaces to accommodate NASA and the local community.

It is important to note that while the Gilruth Center is accessible to the public, it is not open to the public without prior approval. Patrons on federal property must be approved as guests.
