Station Gets Ready for SpaceX Crew Swap During Health Research

Four Expedition 75 crew members are nearing the end of their stay aboard the International Space Station and are awaiting the crew that will replace them next week.

Northrop Grumman’s Cygnus XL spacecraft today fired its thrusters for XX mins, XX seconds boosting the International Space Station’s orbit.

Four crew members from three space agencies will launch to the International Space Station no earlier than spring 2027 for a long-duration science expedition as part of NASA’s SpaceX Crew-14 mission. NASA astronauts Kayla Barron and Chris Birch will serve as spacecraft commander and pilot, with JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) astronaut Makoto Suwa, and Roscosmos cosmonaut […]

Advanced health research, including ultrasound scans, blood tests, and exercise studies, using the latest technology in microgravity was on Thursday’s schedule for the Expedition 75 crew. The orbital residents also continued their ongoing cargo operations and maintenance tasks aboard the International Space Station.

Ultrasound scans using augmented reality and artificial intelligence topped the health research schedule aboard the International Space Station on Wednesday. The Expedition 75 crew also collected blood and saliva samples to study how the immune system adapts to weightlessness. The orbital residents are now preparing for a crew swap as NASA’s SpaceX Crew-13 mission announces a launch date.

NASA and SpaceX are targeting 11:10 a.m. EDT, Thursday, Oct. 1, as the earliest launch opportunity for the Crew-13 mission to the International Space Station. Over the next several days, teams will complete a series of prelaunch activities and intensive reviews to confirm the crew, the space station, and SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft, and Falcon 9 rocket […]

Four Expedition 75 crewmates are preparing for their return to Earth aboard a SpaceX Dragon next month as their replacement crew gets ready for launch. Meanwhile, aboard the International Space Station the orbital residents continued studying biomedicine, activating Earth imagery hardware, and unpacking a cargo craft.

A variety of human research encompassing body measurements, exercise monitoring, and breath rate recording kicked off the week aboard the International Space Station. The Expedition 75 crew members also prepared for an upcoming crew swap, worked inside a pair of cargo spacecraft, and activated automated Earth observation hardware on Monday.

The Roscosmos Progress 96 spacecraft docked to the space-facing port of the International Space Station’s Poisk module at 9:44 a.m. EDT Saturday.
