The NASA Ames Office of the Chief Scientist is pleased to announce the 2024 NASA Summer Series!
The Summer Series is a set of talks by subject leaders from around the globe. Each year, the Office of the Chief Scientist produces a platform for innovative discussion and inspiration to catalyze scientific progress, share ideas, and communicate new and exciting concepts. Many subjects are discussed in the Summer Series, including distinctive topics relevant to the Agency’s goals that are engaging for a research and technology center. The Summer Series is a broad forum that aims to bring new and exciting stories to both NASA employees and the public.
Summer Series 2024 about Summer Series Colloquia
The 2024 series consists of six seminars highlighting Ames Research Center’s diverse capabilities and expertise in multiple subject areas such as lunar science and missions, human space exploration, asteroid threats, and computing.

- Thursday, July 18 – Victor Yeh – Micro-RNA: Enabling Personalized Diagnostics for Radiation Exposure and Beyond
- Tuesday, July 23 – Erin Flynn-Evans – Sleeping Aloft: What Do We Know and What Do We Need to Know as Humans Travel to the Moon and Mars
- Tuesday, July 30 – Jessie Dotson – The Asteroid Threat Assessment Project
- Thursday, August 1 – Alonso Vera – Toward Earth-Independent Human Spaceflight Missions
- Tuesday, August 6 – Michael Lowry – Neuromorphic Computing: Mapping Neuroscience to Silicon and Prospects for Space Missions
