Why Partnerships
Explore what we can achieve together through a NASA partnership
NASA partners with outside entities because together we can achieve more than either could alone. Partnerships speed up research, technology development, and exploration while bringing in fresh ideas and strengthening the growing U.S. space ecosystem. In return, partners gain access to NASA’s world-class facilities, specialized test environments, and technical expertise to bring their ideas to life.

How to Partner with Langley
Learn how to begin the partnership process
NASA works with partners through several types of agreements, each suited to a different kind of collaboration. Space Act Agreements are our most common and flexible option, while other agreements support work with fellow federal agencies or joint research and development with non-federal organizations. Many opportunities are announced publicly, but partnerships can also begin with a simple conversation, whether at an outreach event or through direct contact with a NASA center.

Small Business Innovation Research / Small Business Technology Transfer (SBIR/STTR)
The NASA Small Business Innovation Research / Small Business Technology Transfer (SBIR/STTR) program is part of America’s Seed Fund
The NASA Small Business Innovation Research / Small Business Technology Transfer (SBIR/STTR) program is part of America’s Seed Fund, the nation’s largest source of early-stage non-dilutive funding for innovative technologies. Through this program, entrepreneurs, startups, and small businesses with less than 500 employees can receive funding and non-monetary support to build, mature, and commercialize their technologies, advancing NASA missions and helping solve important problems facing our country. Whether your destination is the Moon, Mars, or the marketplace, the NASA SBIR/STTR program wants to help get you there!
