Trailblazer Award

This award recognizes employees in the first seven years of their professional career who demonstrate innovation, initiative, and a strong commitment to advancing human spaceflight. It honors individuals who exhibit exceptional potential, creativity, and leadership as they contribute to flight safety and mission success.  

ELIGIBILITY 

Full-time NASA and contractor employees are eligible to receive the SFA Trailblazer Award. Only recent work (within the last three years) will be considered. This award can only be presented once to an individual.  

CRITERIA

The nominated individual must meet at least one of the following criteria:  

  1. Demonstrates innovation or creative initiative that establishes a significant contribution to the employees’ organization in support of NASA’s mission and goals 
  2. Identifies new, creative solutions to problems 
  3. Embodies strong work ethic including loyalty, honesty, and integrity 
  4. Works collaboratively with others to achieve a goal in support of NASA’s mission 
  5. Demonstrates steps towards establishing long-term vision and strategy
