Team Award

This award is used to recognize small groups of employees that have demonstrated exemplary teamwork while accomplishing a particular task or goal in support of the human space program.


Employees must have significantly contributed to the human space flight program to ensure flight safety and mission success. Potential awardees must meet one or more of the following criteria:

  1. Contributed significantly beyond fundamental task accountabilities in support of the NASA programs.
  2. Contributed, recommended, and/or implemented a means of improving the reliability, efficiency, accuracy, or safety of a particular human spaceflight program.
  3. Sustained superior performance as part of a team effort over an extended period of time.
  4. Recommended and/or implemented operational improvements to increase efficiency.
