Honoree Award
This award is one of the highest presented to NASA and industry and is for first-level management and below. This award is presented to employees for their dedication to quality work and flight safety. To qualify, the individuals must have contributed beyond their normal work requirements to achieve significant impact on attaining a particular human space flight program goal; contributed to a major cost savings; been instrumental in developing modification to hardware, software, or materials that increase reliability, efficiency, or performance; assisted in operational improvements; or been a key player in developing a beneficial process improvement.
CRITERIA
Employees must have significantly contributed to the human space flight program to ensure flight safety and mission success. Potential awardees must meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Significantly contributed beyond his or her normal work requirements to the development and implementation of human spaceflight programs while ensuring quality and safety.
- Performing a single specific achievement which contributed towards attaining a particular program goal.
- Contributed to one or more major cost saving/cost avoidance.
- Has been instrumental in developing hardware, software, materials, process or operational improvements that increase reliability, efficiency, or performance.
THE SFA HONOREE AWARD IS NOT INTENDED FOR SUPERVISORS AND MANAGERS AT THE BRANCH CHIEF LEVEL AND ABOVE OR EQUIVALENT LEVELS WITHIN INDUSTRY. THIS AWARD MAY NOT BE PRESENTED TO AN HONOREE BUT ONCE.

RECOGNITION
The award consists of:
(1) Congratulatory letter from senior management
(2) Honoree certificate
(3) Honoree lapel pin
(4) A special commemorative current space flight item
(5) Recognition at a major program event and a VIP tour of a space facility.
