Open Science Success Stories: Dr Keith Siew

Welcome to our “Open Science Success Stories”. These narratives showcase insights gleaned from interviews with users of the Open Science Data Repository and underscore the significance of raising public awareness about the availability of these data. This endeavor is vital in creating diverse opportunities for individuals to engage in scientific research, including the option to become part of the AWG community.

In this newest interview, Dr Keith Siew, a physiologist and pharmacologist from University College London, shared his experiences with the Open Science Analysis Working Group (AWG) and its impact on space research. Dr Siew provides us a thoughtful yet light-hearted reflection on how he and colleague Professor Stephen (Ben) Walsh joined the AWGs, as well as their positive experiences with the OSDR and the AWG community.  He especially mentions that by connecting with experts across multiple fields, from omics research to space medicine, researchers across both space and terrestrial research can be enriched.

Be inspired by Dr Siew’s discussion of why we should get involved in the AWG community, as well as the value of building relationships throughout the research process.
