OIIR is organized into six divisions. A matrix approach within the Office allows for provision of support to each NASA Mission Directorate and for specific country or regional issues of interest to the Agency. In addition to its personnel at NASA Headquarters in Washington, DC, OIIR has representatives in Europe, Asia, and Russia. OIIR also maintains a liaison at Peterson Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO.

OIIR Divisions

Advisory Committee Management Division
Director — P. Diane Rausch
Provides management oversight of all of NASA’s Federal advisory committees and ensures full compliance with the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA). Also directly manages the operations of the NASA Advisory Council (NAC) and the Aerospace Safety Advisory Panel (ASAP).

Aeronautics and Cross-Agency Support Division
Director — Kent Bress
Supports a broad range of international policy issues for the Aeronautics Research, and Space Technology Mission Directorates, and the Office of Chief Technologist and Chief Scientist.

Export Control and Interagency Liaison Division
Director — Margaret Kieffer
Supports a broad range of interagency policy issues and supports all four NASA Mission Directorates through the administration of the NASA Export Control Program.

Human Exploration and Operations Division
Director — Patrick Finley
Supports a broad range of international policy issues for the Human Exploration and Operations Mission Directorate.

Resources Management Division
Director — DeVon Fleming
Supports the management of the institutional resources of the organization and its personnel.  Also responsible for protocol activities related to high-level international visits.

Science Division
Director — Gilbert Kirkham
Supports a broad range of international policy issues for the Science Mission Directorate.
