The Aeronautics and Cross Agency Support Division (ACD) oversees all international efforts and provides policy and programmatic support on international matters to NASA’s Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate, the Space Technology Mission Directorate, the Office of the Chief Technologist, the Office of the Chief Scientist, the Office of Communications and the Office of STEM Engagement.

The division oversees a diverse assortment of cooperative activities, from research aimed at improving the safety and efficiency of global aviation, to complementing U.S. space technology investments with research activities in other countries to help meet NASA goals. ACD is also the lead division for NASA’s relations with Canada and Europe, and for interactions with international bodies such as the International Astronautical Federation. Support includes drafting and negotiating international agreements, arranging engagements between NASA senior leaders and their international counterparts, providing policy guidance and recommendations on international issues and relationships with current and prospective foreign partners, and supporting NASA’s efforts to attract and retain students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
