Robert Conway, Acting Director

Capt. Robert (Bob) Conway (U.S. Navy, retired) is the acting director of the NASA Safety Center (NSC), located at the Ohio Aerospace Institute in Cleveland, Ohio. In this role, he generates an environment of learning and information sharing to advance Safety and Mission Assurance (SMA) expertise across the agency workforce. He assures consistency, effectiveness, and quality in programs, products, and services; and enhances collaborations across the agency, industry, and other government agencies.

Prior to being appointed to this position in August, 2024, Conway served as the deputy director of the NSC to enable more effective and efficient SMA support for NASA’s portfolio of programs and projects. He worked with the NSC director to manage the NSC’s activities in knowledge sharing and analysis, professional development, and assessments, audits, and investigations.
