The NASA First Nations Launch competition, an Artemis Student Challenge, offers Tribal Colleges, and Universities (TCUs), Native American-Serving Nontribal Institutions (NASNTI), and American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) chapter students, the opportunity to demonstrate engineering and design skills through direct application in high-powered rocketry. The competition guides teams of undergraduate students through the engineering design process to design, build and fly high-powered rockets. Teams also conduct outreach within their communities, serving as role models to inspire the next generation of explorers!

The competition is facilitated by the Wisconsin Space Grant Consortium, managed by NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida, and funded by the Minority University Research and Education Project (MUREP).
