Model Output

The Mars Climate Modeling Center (MCMC) has released output from a reference simulation of the FV3-based Mars Global Climate Model (MGCM), which uses a cubed-sphere grid and a state-of-the-art finite volume dynamical core developed by NOAA GFDL.

The Mars Climate Modeling Center (MCMC) provides publicly available output from both of its Mars Global Climate Models (MGCMs) on NASA’s NAS Data Portal so that researchers, mission planners, and the broader community can work directly with model data without running the MGCM. Available datasets include:

  • FV3-based MGCM output – Reference simulation results from the FV3 cubed-sphere model.
  • Legacy MGCM output – Reference simulation results from the Arakawa “C” grid latitude/longitude model.

Output can be explored directly through the Community Analysis Pipeline (CAP) and the MCMC’s web interface, or downloaded in full for independent analysis.
