David Moore

Prior to joining the Game Changing Development Program, David Moore served as the Associate Director for Space Technology and Advanced Development Programs within the Space Technology and Exploration Directorate at NASA’s Langley Research Center. In this role, he provided leadership in the development and execution of the center’s portfolio supporting both NASA Space Technology Mission Directorate and Exploration System Development Mission Directorate. 

David has had the opportunity to serve both mission and mission support organizations. David served a detail as the System Engineering Technical Discipline Integration Lead for the NASA Engineering Safety Center and has many years of Engineering Project Management experience leading advanced development projects for Langley. 

David holds a Master of Science degree in Engineering Mechanics and Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Old Dominion University. David began his career at Langley as part of the Structural and Thermal Systems Branch. Prior to NASA, David worked at Newport News Shipbuilding and Lockheed Martin designing and analyzing structures for U.S. Navy nuclear submarines and aircraft carriers along with performing analyses for advanced aerospace and aircraft structures. 

David has been awarded the NASA Exceptional Achievement Award, a Silver Snoopy, and the Space Flight Awareness Award for leadership and innovations in systems engineering and structural analyses.
