Prior to joining the Game Changing Development Program, Elizabeth Taylor previously served at NASA’s Ames Research Center and Johnson Space Center. She has functioned as a program manager, project manager, operations manager, and flight controller across multiple vehicles and systems for NASA.    

At Ames, Elizabeth was the project manager for a technology development project, Automated Reconfigurable Mission Adaptive Digital Assembly Systems, and the associate chief of mission systems for Ames’ Intelligent Systems Division. Prior to that, she served as deputy system manager for Gateway’s Vehicle Systems Manager where she advised and oversaw technical design, as well as provided organization, structure, and accountability for the development of the algorithms and software that will control the first autonomous, human-rated space station.   

She also served as the acting program manager for the agency and as the project manager at Ames for the Space Biology Program. In the program manager role, she oversaw all program functions across multiple centers to ensure smooth, efficient operations and good stewardship of taxpayers’ money. In the project manager role, she was responsible for overseeing and integrating the breadth of life science portfolios, which included hardware projects and science grants in various phases of development that culminated in research on small satellites, the International Space Station, Orion, balloons, aircraft, and on the ground. Prior to these roles, Elizabeth was recruited as the mission integration and operations lead for the Rodent Research Project to improve efficiency and effectiveness of operations for the most technically complex life science payload project on the space station.    

Elizabeth’s NASA career began at Johnson as a Flight Controller assembling the space station and progressed to becoming a flight operations manager for four of the space station’s core systems. During this time, Elizabeth also served a detail in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer at NASA Headquarters. Elizabeth’s passion for and dedication to collaboration, teamwork, innovation, and problem solving have earned her numerous awards.
