The MIST Team is responsible for providing information systems and tools required to support Crew Health and Safety, including the design, implementation, and maintenance of comprehensive secure data management infrastructure facilitating the capture, use, and analysis of medical information to support crew health and safety objectives.

Products

  • Data Acquisition and Management Applications: Electronic Medical Record System, Picture Archive and Communication System, Lifetime Surveillance of Astronaut Health Command Center and Database, Mission Medical Repository, Exercise Information System, Astronaut Radiation Exposure Analysis System, etc.
  • Information Management Platform for Data Analytics and Aggregation (IMPALA): A platform to store, process, perform and share advanced data analytics, business intelligence and visualizations of data at scale, based on contemporary big data analytics technology and processes.
  • Maintenance and Technical Support: For all hardware and software in the Mission Extended Medical Enterprise (MEME) Environment.
  • IT Security & Network Administration: Monitor network traffic, apply patches, run security scans and monitor network performance.
  • Data Backup and Restore Services: Secure backups performed on a regular basis for all systems. Verification of success of backups.
  • Continuity of Operations Site: Provides reliable capability for Space Medicine systems during service interruptions to the primary data center – JSC Building 46.
  • User Support Services: Technical support services for users of the Mission Extended Medical Enterprise (MEME) Environment
  • Clinical Systems Customization: Customization of EMR encounter forms to conform with requirements of Clinical operations, i.e. BHP, Dexascan, Audiology, etc.
