The 9’x15′ Low Speed Wind Tunnel provides customers with a facility capable of testing large scale aeropropulsion hardware.
Quick Facts
- Common means of measuring pressure include:
- Pressure rakes
- Static pressure taps
- Pressure-Sensitive Paint (PSP)
- Fast-response pressure transducers
These measuring techniques may provide information on many different flow characteristics, including:
- Mach number, velocity
- Fluid density (with temperature)
- Flow separation
- Characterizing laminar/turbulent flow
- Sonic boom strength
- Flow quality (including flow uniformity)
- Acoustic noise levels
- Verification of flow theory
