The Airfield Operations Office oversees the daily operations, safety, and regulatory compliance of NASA’s airfield at Wallops Flight Facility, including hangars and support facilities. It is responsible for managing both manned aircraft and unmanned aerial system operations, conducting routine safety inspections of the airfield, coordinating infrastructure maintenance, and meeting all associated safety requirements.
The airfield aligns with the Wallops Spaceport vision by supporting commercial customer deliveries for critical hardware in and out of Wallops.

As part of NASA’s ongoing effort to deliver supplies to the International Space Station using commercially-developed space systems, the second Pressurized Cargo Module for the Cygnus spacecraft landed on an Antonov AN-124 aircraft at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia. The Wallops Airfield supports Antonov deliveries of critical hardware for any commercial customer or government agency.
