Sept. 16 | Revolutionizing Medicine – in Space
Join us Wednesday, Sept. 16, from 3:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. to explore how studying human cells in deep space can advance healthcare on Earth, the Moon, and beyond. During this presentation and Q&A, NASA’s Biological and Physical Sciences Division Director Dr. Lisa Carnell will discuss how “organ chips” the size of a thumb drive can breathe like a lung and beat like a heart, why NASA wants to understand how deep space affects each astronaut before we go to Mars, and how this technology could advance biomedical research in aging, disease, and cancer treatments.
