Rubik: My everyday extraordinary is working on car radiators…but for spacecraft.

Rubik Sheth, Project Manager, Advanced Thermal Technologies

I am a thermal technology development engineer. Thermal control is core to any space vehicle. Without that, our crew wouldn’t survive even a second. We were given the task to design a unique heat exchanger for Orion—as the vehicle is getting hot or cool it will store or reject energy into that material. We are actually operating the heat exchanger on orbit in the International Space Station from our own lab.

You know on a daily basis what you’re doing is revolutionary. The technologies that we work on here are going to enable us to go farther. It’s our own hardware in space. It’s just so awesome. If there’s a problem that needs to be solved, and it’s something that not that many people are working on…that’s the motivation that allows me to get up and say I’m going to go into work today with a smile on my face.

Are you ready to explore the extraordinary?
