Pressure is a critical characteristic to provide information about flow on many different levels. Instrumentation varies depending on the type of pressure that is needed, be it static, dynamic, or stagnation (total) pressure, or pressure fluctuations. In the context of fluid flow, pressure measurements are often taken in order to indirectly measure some other flow characteristic, such as noise levels or flow speed.
