The CIF program provides research funding for emerging technologies. It is designed to stimulate and encourage creativity and innovation within NASA Centers to address the technology needs of NASA and the nation. At Armstrong, CIF has helped advance numerous impactful technologies that have gone on to receive further funding (e.g., fiber optic sensing, electric propulsion, acoustic diagnostics).
