SBIR/STTR Phase II

Phase II is focused on the development, demonstration, and delivery of a technology innovation. These awards are made to small businesses (and their research institution partners in STTR) who successfully demonstrated the feasibility of their technology idea during Phase I. Only small businesses that were awarded a Phase I are eligible to apply for Phase II.

The next STTR Phase II solicitation is scheduled for Summer 2025; dates will be announced soon.

May 14, 2025 | 2024 SBIR Phase II

NASA selected 108 proposals from U.S. small businesses in 24 states to receive 2024 SBIR Phase II awards, worth up to $850,000 each plus up to $50,000 in Technical and Business Assistance (TABA) funds. After proving their concepts during Phase I, these small businesses will now get the chance to develop their technology prototypes for applications like a Mars communications relay network, AI processors for autonomous spaceflight and surface operations, and more. November 22, 2024 | 2023 STTR Phase II

NASA selected 21 small businesses and their research institution partners to receive 2023 STTR Phase II awards, worth up to $850,000 each plus up to $50,000 in Technical and Business Assistance (TABA) funds. All of the selected teams successfully completed their Phase I concept development periods, and will now move on to develop technology prototypes in a variety of areas to help our missions in space and here on Earth.
