NASA Awards Contract for Software Engineering Support at Goddard

NASA has awarded a contract to Arctic Slope Technical Services, Inc. (ASTS) of Beltsville, Maryland for information technology support for programs and projects at the agency’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland.

The Software Engineering Support II (SES II) contract is an 8(a) small business set-aside, cost-plus fixed-fee, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract with a one-year core component. The IDIQ portion of the contract runs from December through November 2020 and has a maximum ordering value of $246 million. The core component has a base value of about $10 million, and includes a one-year base period, one 24-month option valued at $11 million, and one 14-month option valued at $6.6 million. The total contract value is approximately $273.7 million and the total period of performance is five years. Individual task orders may extend for up to one year past the expiration of the ordering period.

The contractor will support the development, operations, and sustaining engineering of software and information systems throughout all phases of programs and projects — from formulation through on-orbit operations. These systems include: flight, ground and science data software for spacecraft monitoring, control, on-orbit performance management and operations; spacecraft data processing and analysis, and information management; and science data analysis and management.
