Monica M. Watts

Chief Financial Officer (Acting), Stennis Space Center

As the Acting Chief Financial Officer, Monica Watts oversees the business of Stennis Space Center with the implementation and administration of all integrated Stennis and NASA financial management. 

She began her career at Stennis Space Center in 1999 with Lockheed Martin in support to the OCFO’s Integrated Financial Management Program for implementing the Core Financial Module.  In 2002 she became a Cost Accountant for NASA in the Office of the CFO.  After eight years in Cost Accounting, she moved to Property Accounting where she was recognized with the NASA Exceptional Achievement Medal and NASA Space Flight Awareness Honoree Award.  In 2012 she moved to Reimbursable Accounting and in 2014 became the Lead Accountant for the General Accounting Branch (cost, property, standard general ledger, travel and payroll).  In 2017 she became the Lead Accountant for the Financial Accounting Branch (reimbursables, outside buyer, ALR, CBPL and internal controls).  During this tenure, she received many group achievement and NASA Honor awards for her efforts in Financial Management.  In 2019 she became the Deputy Chief Financial Officer, Finance (DCFO-F) and in 2024, the Deputy Chief Financial Officer.  In October of 2025, she became the Agency Payroll Management Functional Champion. 

Watts holds an Associate of Arts degree from Pearl River Community College, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (with an Accounting emphasis) degree and Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. She resides in Columbia, Mississippi with her husband (Chris) and children (Luke, C.J. and Chloe).
