Interests
Dr. Egle Cekanaviciute is the NASA Ames Research Center Lead for the NASA Human Research Program. She also serves as the course director of the STAR: Spaceflight, Technology, Applications and Research intensive training program for facilitating the entry of new investigators to space biology and preparation for conducting spaceflight experiments using NASA and commercial platforms.
Egle is one of the Principal Investigators in the Radiation Biophysics Laboratory, where her team studies neurological and immune responses to simulated space radiation and other spaceflight stressors, and develops organ models and genetic engineering approaches for space biology investigations. In addition, Egle is passionate about science education, mentorship and communication.
