NASA Awards Commercial Payload Processing Contract

NASA has selected Astrotech Space Operations, LLC, of Titusville, Florida, to provide commercial payload processing services for agency missions launching from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida.

The maximum potential value of this five-year, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract will not exceed $45 million. The period of performance begins April 13.

Work under the contract includes providing facilities and services necessary to perform prelaunch processing of spacecraft and associated launch vehicle flight hardware of the completed payload stack before being delivered to the launch pad. Payload processing typically commences three months prior to a launch date and requirements vary depending on the spacecraft and mission. NASA’s Launch Services Program at Kennedy will manage the contract.
