NASA Kennedy Space Center At Niagara Falls

April 4 – 8, 2024 | 9 a.m.

Beginning on April 4, 2024, scientists, subject matter experts and astronauts from NASA will be providing programming and exhibits throughout the city at locations including the Niagara Falls Public Libraries, The Underground Railroad Heritage Center, The Aquarium of Niagara, the New York Power Authority Power Vista, the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute and Niagara Falls State Park. All events will be free and open to the public (reservations may be required based on space availability) throughout the entire weekend leading up to the April 8 event. NASA will be hosting similar events in several other cities throughout the path of totality.

Eclipse Weekend at Seneca Park Zoo

April 6, 2024 | 10 a.m.

Join us for Eclipse Weekend at Seneca Park Zoo April 6th and 7th. Eclipse Weekend will feature a range of on-site activities, all included with Zoo admission! All activities free with admission Demonstrations of hyper-spectral audio recorders to measure animal vocalization behavior during the eclipse The fan-favorite Nature Cart and other learning stations run by Zoo Naturalists offering opportunities to learn about the eclipse and build pinhole cameras Virtual presentations from conservation partners Snow Leopard Trust and Polar Bears International related to nocturnal animal behavior and migration during long arctic days and nights.

Get ready for the April 8th Total Solar Eclipse with the Sciencenter

April 6 – 7, 2024 | 10 a.m.

Visitors of all ages are invited to participate in hands-on activities related to the solar eclipse and sun science.
On April 8th, the New York State Office of Parks is hosting a day-long viewing event at Fair Haven Beach State Park, which is within the path of totality. The Sciencenter will be on site to celebrate the eclipse with hands-on space activities and distribute Sciencenter eclipse glasses for safe viewing.

Totality in Tupper

April 8, 2024 | 8 a.m.

The Adirondack Sky Center & Observatory will feature guest speakers from Harvard-Smithsonian Observatory & Wesleyan Universities, an 18-foot multimedia digital screen of NASA’s livestream as well as numerous other broadcasts, indoor planetarium visits, citizen scientist data collection, live views through professional solar telescopes, as well as numerous activities for science enthusiasts of all ages. The weekend-long event begins on Friday evening and runs through Tuesday. This site has been selected to be featured on NASA’s livestream of the eclipse through Adirondack Sky Center & Observatory telescopes, as well as video from our event itself. Claiming the only astronomy-based organization in the Adirondack Park, Tupper Lake is considered to be the destination for eclipse chasers. The preparations by Adirondack Sky Center & Observatory will certainly make the trip worthwhile.

Total Eclipse of the Park: Watertown NY

Join us in historic Thompson Park for our City’s exciting event – we’ll have multiple instruments set up for viewing from Noon until 4:30 p.m., with 3 minutes, 39 seconds of totality at 3:22 p.m. Free eclipse glasses. Food trucks, vendors, etc on hand.

The Total Eclipse at Sahlen Field

April 8, 2024 | 1 p.m.

The centerline of the 2024 Eclipse goes right through centerfield of the ballpark in Buffalo, NY, so the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons have teamed up with NASA for this once-in-a-lifetime free event: The Total Eclipse at Sahlen Field. Gates to the ballpark will open at 12:30 p.m. and a educational and entertaining program begins at 1:00 p.m., featuring NASA scientists, Q&A sessions, demonstrations and a live feed of NASA programming on the Bisons 80 ft. centerfield scoreboard. Sahlen Field will then have one of the best views in the world of the Total Solar Eclipse at 3:18 p.m. Tickets are FREE at the Sahlen Field Box Office (or for a $1 processing fee on Bisons.com/Eclipse) and ballpark concessions will be open. Brooklyn Solar Eclipse 2024

On April 8, 2024 join us to slow down, look up, and celebrate our solar system at a rare astronomical event, the last total solar eclipse visible from the contiguous United States until 2044! New York City will observe 90% percent obstruction and, weather permitting, we’ll get to view this cosmic occurrence together.

Solar Eclipse viewing at Bartow Pell Mansion Museum

April 8, 2024 | 2-4 p.m.

On April 8, 2024, from 2-4 p.m. the Bartow Pell Mansion Museum invites you to view a deep partial solar eclipse from the front lawn of the museum. At our location, the Moon will cover about 90% of the Sun at maximum eclipse. Bartow Pell educator and New York City NASA Solar System Ambassador Robin Vernuccio will provide an understanding of what is happening and will lead fun eclipse activities for children. Eclipse viewers will be offered, one per person as long as they last.

Broome Library Solar Eclipse Event

Families and students are welcome to drop by the Library’s Decker Room anytime between 1:00pm-4:30pm for a special program about the solar eclipse. NASA’s Solar System Ambassador: Tish Bresee will talk about and demonstrate activities to learn about WHAT IS AN ECLIPSE OF THE SUN? Our library volunteers will take you outside to observe the Sun as it is 98% covered by the Moon!

Glenmont Job Corps Solar Eclipse Viewing Party

April 8, 2024 | 3 p.m.

Staff and Students at Glenmont Job Corps will be released from class early and gather all together in the courtyard to view the solar eclipse. While we are not over the direct path of totality, we are roughly 96% Eclipse. The Center has ordered over 300 pairs of AAS Approved Eclipse Glasses for our students and staff!
