Spacecraft Anomalies and Failures Workshop (SCAF) 2025

Due to new NASA conference travel rules, NCTS approval is now required for NASA civil service personnel to attend the SCAF 2025 workshop. Please work with your manager to obtain the necessary approvals. NCTS approval is not required for NASA contractor and non-NASA personnel.

11th Annual Spacecraft Anomalies and Failures Workshop

NASA and NRO will jointly host the Spacecraft Anomalies and Failures (SCAF) Workshop with the goal of bringing together government, industry, academia, allies, and international partners to share the critical role of analysis, trends, and lessons learned from anomalies and failures to prevent them from reoccurring.

This workshop provides the unique experience to learn from leading experts on how to more effectively design, operate, protect, and defend space, ground, and communication systems.

Topics will include:

  • Recent anomalies and failure trends on orbit, launch, and ground
  • Results from latest studies, experiments, and demonstrations
  • Planned capabilities to bolster space, ground, and communication resilience and protection
  • Gaps and opportunities in the design of space architectures
  • Briefings from allied partners

The three-day workshop will occur at two locations and multiple classification levels.

For NASA personnel and contractors, an NCTS approval is not required for this workshop.

Registration and visit requests are required for each location by 11 March 20
