Extravehicular Activity Reference Documents

In an effort to provide relevant and timely information to the Extravehicular Activity (EVA)/Space Suit community, we have created this repository to share pertinent reference materials supporting NASA’s Exploration efforts pertaining to EVA.

EVA Technical Library
NASA, industry, and academia have made a significant investment in progressing spacesuit and related EVA technologies to support operations in environmental extremes beyond Lower Earth Orbit (LEO). NASA is currently designing and developing several exploration EVA (xEVA) capabilities including the Exploration Extravehicular Mobility Unit (xEMU). NASA plans to continue maturing the xEMU design and other xEVA operations hardware to enable industry readiness to support an emerging commercial market for Extravehicular Activity (EVA) services, of which NASA intends to be one of the multiple customers. NASA is sharing its xEVA technical documentation in this technical library to facilitate industry access to design and requirements data. The data in this technical library is for reference only and is not a part of any particular procurement.

xEMU CAD Models
Computer Aided Design (CAD) models for the xEMU suit are available here in two grouped zip files. Each zip file includes a User’s Guide for this configuration controlled version of the model.  These models are meant to allow for good visual rendering of the suit.  They are not meant to be used as a volumetric simulator for any engineering work.
