Our Missions

Aeronautics
Fly Everywhere – NASA’s aeronautics researchers find ways to fly that are faster, cheaper, safer, and cleaner. They also build systems that will help autonomous vehicles take on jobs from moving people and goods to emergency response.

Science
Understand Earth and Beyond – Langley scientists study the air we breathe and atmospheres on other planets. They monitor weather and climate. Our research explores the secretes of the universe for the benefit of all!

Space Exploration
Reach to Deep Space – As NASA prepares to send astronauts to the Moon and beyond, Langley’s expert engineers create tools to energize human and robotic exploration.

STEM Engagement

Stephen G. Jurczyk

Jurczyk served as NASA’s Acting Administrator from January to May 2021; Associate Administrator, the agency’s highest ranking civil servant, from 2018 – 2021; and Langley’s Center Director from 2014 – 2015.
