NASA’s Orion spacecraft, wrapped up for shipping, is carefully aligned for loading into the agency’s Super Guppy aircraft at the Space Florida-operated Launch and Landing Facility runway at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Nov. 21, 2019. The Orion crew and service modules will fly to Ohio’s Mansfield Lahm Airport and be transported the following day to NASA’s Plum Brook Station in Sandusky, Ohio for environmental testing. In this unique facility, the spacecraft will be put through extensive tests to ensure they can survive the rigors of a deep space mission. The Orion spacecraft will launch atop the agency’s Space Launch System rocket on the first Artemis mission.
