NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine, right, and Dr. Marc Serres, chief executive officer, Luxembourg Space Agency (LSA), left, shake hands after signing a joint statement on Oct. 22, 2019, during the 70th International Astronautical Congress in Washington. The two agencies have expressed interest in furthering cooperation in lunar exploration, with a particular emphasis on advancing commercial opportunities. They also agreed to pursue a framework agreement that will facilitate future cooperation on NASA’s Artemis program that will return humans to the surface of the Moon by 2024 and will create exciting future opportunities for sustainable activities on and around the Moon.
