The Far Ultra Violet Imaging Spectrograph, or FUV, for the NASA ICON mission during a test of the door release mechanism at Lockheed Martin in August 2015. Note the door of the instrument opened to expose the aperture of the instrument. FUV captures images of far ultraviolet light in the upper atmosphere to track how this region responds to weather in the lower atmosphere.
