ESA astronaut Sophie Adenotis tethered to the International Space Station during a spacewalk

iss075e0085867 (Sept. 1, 2026) --- ESA (European Space Agency) astronaut Sophie Adenot, with her spacesuit’s gold‑plated helmet visor down, is tethered to the International Space Station. Adenot participated in a six‑hour and 49‑minute spacewalk with station commander Jessica Meir of NASA (out of frame), installing a spacecraft navigation aid, swabbing the station’s exterior for microorganisms, and preparing a cosmic particle detector for future upgrades outside the International Space Station.
