A Ball Aerospace engineer prepares the Imaging X-Ray Polarimetry Explorer spacecraft boom for testing at Ball’s Boulder, Colorado, test facility. A joint mission by NASA and the Italian Space Agency, IXPE will measure the polarization of cosmic X-rays to further understanding of the fundamental physics of extreme and exotic objects in the universe, including black holes and exploded stars.
