Appearing as if it were ready to take to the air again after a lapse of more than 31 years, NASA’s Highly Maneuverable Aircraft Technology (HiMAT) remotely operated technology demonstration aircraft now graces the newly landscaped courtyard in front the Integrated Support Facility at NASA’s Armstrong Flight Research Center. The subscale HiMAT research aircraft demonstrated advanced fighter technologies that have been used in the development of many modern high performance military aircraft during a four-year flight research program from 1979 through 1983.
