This image of intern George Gorospe was taken in the summer of 2010, when he participated in his first NASA internship as part in the Tribal Colleges and Universities Program. That summer he worked in the Diagnostics and Prognostics Research Laboratory at NASA Ames. After completing two more internships, including the NASA Ames Academy for Space Exploration, Gorospe was hired as a full-time contractor and in 2015 he became the manager of the Diagnostics and Prognostics Research Laboratory.

He was awarded the Contractor’s Award for his dedication to increasing diversity at NASA Ames through the support and outreach for Native American Communities in Washington state, Arizona, California and New Mexico.
