Built between 1992 and 1996, Deep Space Station (DSS) 24, 25, and 26 are 34 meter (111 foot) Beam Waveguide (BWG) antennas in Goldstone, California. BWG antennas are designed with their sensitive electronic equipment in an underground room allowing easier repair and maintenance. Additionally, these antennas provide greater flexibility with the ability to communicate in the S-, X-, and Ka-bands. More BWG antennas are scheduled to be built in the next decade at the other two Deep Space Network complexes in Madrid, Spain and Canberra, Australia.
