NASA is one of America’s Best Employers for Women 2023, according to Forbes and Statista. Statista surveyed more than 60,000 United States employees – including a sample of more than 40,000 women – working for companies with a minimum of 1,000 employees. Participants were asked to rate their employer based on factors such as working conditions, representation of women in upper management, discrimination, flexibility, and pay equity.

“NASA is proud to be recognized as a top employer for women,” said Elaine Ho, chief diversity officer at the agency’s headquarters in Washington. “But we are most proud of the many amazing women who make invaluable contributions to our awe-inspiring missions day in and day out. From our scientists, lawyers, accountants, engineers, communicators, human resources professionals, center directors, and many more – we are fortunate to have such talented professionals at NASA.”

The best employers list includes 400 companies from a variety of industries in the public, private, and academia sectors. NASA ranks in the top 10% of employers on the list and is the only federal agency included. The agency also leads the list of employers in the aerospace and defense category.
