2019-2023 NEPA Preparers

Preparers of the 2023 Proposed Revisions to the NASA NEPA Regulations

In accordance with guidance on categorical exclusions (CatExs) published by the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) in December 2010, a summary of the qualifications of persons involved in developing the proposed CatExs is available to view below. This includes the members who have served on NASA’s NEPA Rule Work Group formed in 2019.

In addition to Work Group members, Center NEPA Managers have provided input on completed NEPA actions that support the proposed CatExs, and each served as a technical expert in the development of NASA’s proposed CatExs. They oversee that official Administrative Records are maintained by the Center. NASA’s NEPA Rule Work Group has been well supported by the technical expertise of program and project mission managers across the agency. The proposed revisions to the NEPA regulations (including the new CatExs being proposed) were reviewed and approved by the environmental attorney at the Office of General Counsel, NASA Headquarters.
