Tracking and Data Relay Satellite-7 (TDRS-7) is placed in orbit by the Space Transportation System 70 (STS-70) Space Shuttle mission. The original contract called for six satellites to be built, but since TDRS-B was lost in the Challenger accident, TDRS-7 was built to replace TDRS-B.
