Granite Lab:

In the Granite Lab, Astrobee robots can use their propulsion systems to fly around in three degrees of freedom, riding on air carriages on a level granite surface, with a two meter square workspace.  There is a dock and two Astrobees in the Granite lab.  The dock is mounted to the wall and connected to power and a wired LAN.  The Astrobees are each mounted to a custom CO2 carriage, one Astrobee in the +Z-up orientation, and the other in the +Z-down.  In this orientation, the Astrobees can dock and undock from the dock under their own power, and charge from the dock when docked.  Other orientations such as +Y-up and +Y-down are available as needed.  There are other custom CO2 carriages in the lab which may be used for mounting other hardware as needed.  There is a WAP that the Astrobees use for wireless communication, which is also connected to the LAN.  Guest access to the LAN, whether wired or wireless is possible only under very limited situations and should be coordinated well in advance.
