Upward Flammability of Materials in GOX (NASA Test 17)

The purpose of this test is to determine the flammability of materials at the use pressure in GOX at ambient or elevated temperatures.  This test can also be used to provide supplemental information by testing at pressures other than the intended use pressure. Test specimens are mounted vertically in a test chamber and tested one at a time. Each specimen is ignited at the bottom by  an ignition system and allowed to burn until each self-extinguishes. The burn length, the linear distance of consumed specimen, is measured and recorded.
