MAF EAP – April is National Alcohol Awareness Month

Dr. George F. Koob, Ph.D., Director of the NIAAA (National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism) wants readers to learn about Alcohol Use Disorder and ways to get help. While he acknowledges that most US adults who drink Alcohol do so moderately and without complications, Alcohol Use disorder (AUD) affects about 15 million adults in the US and an estimated 88 million people die of alcohol related deaths annually, making alcohol the third leading cause of death in the nation.
