Apply for a Downlink

The proposal period for In-Flight Education Downlinks Expedition 72 is currently open.

The deadline for completed proposal submission is 12:00 p.m. CST on May 21, 2024.

In-Flight Education Downlinks are opportunities for students and educators to interact with astronauts aboard the International Space Station during a 20-minute question and answer session. During the event, astronauts respond to the student questions live on-air. Downlinks are available to U.S.-based formal and informal education organizations.

**Expedition 72 education downlinks will tentatively occur between September 2024-March 2025**

To Apply:

  1. Register in NASA STEM Gateway. Registration is a two-step process:
  2. Once a profile has been created in NASA STEM Gateway, email JSC-Downlinks@mail.nasa.gov to request a current Expedition 72 proposal form.
  3. Once the proposal form and supporting materials are complete, upload them in NASA STEM Gateway by attaching them to your application for NGS In-Flight Education Downlinks Expedition 72.

Three virtual question and answer sessions will be offered throughout the proposal period. We invite you to attend the session that works best with your schedule to ask questions ask for feedback on your proposal and application process.
