ARCTek

Our goal for ARCTek Phase 1 was to communicate and understand our technology capabilities and identify development and collaboration opportunities. Center Director Pete Worden, Associate Director Steve Zornetzer, and organization directors Michael Bicay (Science), Eugene Tu (Exploration Technology) and Huy Tran (Aeronautics), along with John Hines (Center Chief Technologist) presented their perceptions of the technology directions of the Agency, NASA’s mission directorates, and the Space Technology Office. We then sought the Ames community’s reactions and feedback – realtime.

ARCTek 2012 Whiteboards

The Office of the Center Chief Technologist had intended for the ARCTek whiteboards to initiate an open discussion within the Ames community of the Center’s technology goals and how best to achieve them. However, due to concerns among members of the Ames family, we have decided to withdraw the whiteboards from this site. We will look into uploading summaries of the whiteboard comments instead. We hope very much to continue the dialogue in other ways, and will engage with you soon at subsequent ARCTek phases.

ARC Technology Expertise Areas

Over the past year the Office of the Center Chief Technologist (CCT) has worked with resident technical staff and Center management to identify and define ARC’s core technology expertise areas. The purpose of this effort is to both document ARC’s competency to support numerous elements of the Space Technology Roadmaps developed by the Office of the Chief Technologist (OCT), as well as serve as a resource to the ARC community in the preparation of proposals and during the course of other pursuits where the identification of technical expertise and respective points of contact are required.

The ARC Technology Expertise Areas document is in draft form. At this stage in our development of the document, we want to share it with the ARC community at large to ensure that it is free of gaps and that the indexing we have performed is logical.
