Martin Annett transitioned into the Game Changing Development Program Office in October 2021. From 2018-2021, Martin was the Head of the Structural Dynamics Branch and Manager of the Landing and Impact Research Facility at NASA Langley Research Center. As a researcher, Martin provided analytical and test support for a variety of spacecraft landing and aircraft crashworthiness programs and performed blast and ballistics analyses for aircraft survivability and human spaceflight reliability studies. 

Martin was the technical lead for impact dynamics and injury biomechanics within NASA’s Revolutionary Vertical Lift Technology (RVLT) project and the lead test engineer for the Transport Rotorcraft Airframe Crash Testbed full-scale crash tests. Prior to NASA, Martin worked at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, Orbital Sciences Corporation, and The Aerospace Corporation, performing structural tests and analyses on missile defense, spacecraft, space opto-mechanical instrument, and injury biomechanics programs. 

Martin holds a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics from the University of Minnesota. Martin has authored or coauthored over 40 technical papers and is a member of the Vertical Flight Society Crash Safety Committee.
