About

Tyler Thorsen’s general research interests includes remote sensing of clouds and aerosols along with studying their impacts on the Earth’s energy budget. He actively contributes to several different projects as a member of the ACCP study team, CALIPSO science team, and CERES science team with work spanning from technical data product development to the science applications of these data. Tyler has been a Research Scientist in the Lidar Science Branch at NASA Langley since 2017. He was a NASA Postdoctoral Fellow with the Climate Science Branch at NASA Langley from 2015-2016. Tyler holds a BS in Meteorology from the Pennsylvania State University and a PhD in Atmospheric Sciences from the University of Washington.
