What makes your job at NASA exciting or unique?

Spectrum Management is a field that is just as unique as it is important. Every NASA mission relies on the radio frequency spectrum to communicate to the ground or to other spacecraft for the purpose of command and control of the spacecraft as well as to transmit important data. My job is exciting because I get to follow every NASA mission from conception to launch. Additionally, I get to discuss NASA missions with other space agencies and to promote the harmonious use of spectrum, which takes me all over the globe.

How does your position contribute to the future Artemis missions?

We are going back to the moon and beyond and we need the radio frequency spectrum to get there. I do my part to help ensure NASA’s missions are supported and are meeting the necessary domestic and international spectrum regulatory requirements.

What’s your favorite thing about working for NASA?

NASA fosters a self-transcendent environment meaning every job feels like a contribution to the grater good of humanity. With a goal like getting to the moon and to expand horizons and knowing that you play a part it is very rewarding.
